Linda Noskova has reached her first Grand Slam final at Wimbledon this year.

Noskova won the Berlin Open title a couple of weeks before Wimbledon this year, a tournament where she had never been to the quarter-finals before.

However, after beating the likes of Madison Keys and Marta Kostyuk, Noskova has reached the Wimbledon final.

Ahead of Noskova’s Wimbledon final against her compatriot Karolina Muchova, Martina Navratilova has compared the former to a multiple-time Grand Slam champion.

Martina Navratilova compares Linda Noskova to Lindsay Davenport

Navratilova spoke about Noskova on Tennis Channel after watching her reach the Wimbledon final, where she compared her to three-time Grand Slam singles champion Lindsay Davenport.

Noskova was also praised by Navratilova for her on-court mentality and how she keeps a consistent rhythm, regardless of the match stakes at the time.

Who will win the 2026 Wimbledon women’s final?

“Her game you said weight of shot, reminds me of Lindsay Davenport,” said Navratilova. “She’s got very efficient groundstrokes and that carries, because she’s got the body behind the ball when she’s hitting it. So she doesn’t have to create that much speed with her arm because the body is behind it.”

“…She’s a bit of a character, but you know she’s feeling things on the inside but on the outside she looks very calm.

“What impresses me is that she plays every point kind of the same tempo, the same way. No stress, if there is stress you don’t see it. She takes her time between points, but not too long. On the big points she doesn’t all of a sudden bounce the ball 10 times instead of the usual two or three. So she keeps that routine and I think that really settles you down.”

What happened in Linda Noskova’s only previous match against Karolina Muchova?

Noskova won a junior Grand Slam title at Roland Garros in 2021, and the 21-year-old is now just one win away from winning her first major as a professional tennis player.

It has already been confirmed that there will be a new Grand Slam champion, as Muchova also seeks her first major.

Noskova and Muchova reached the semi-finals of the doubles tournament at the Paris Olympics together, and they have also faced each other once before.

That came at the US Open last year, with Muchova coming from a set down to beat Noskova 6(5)-7, 6-4, 6-2.

Both Noskova and Muchova have won a grass court title this year, and now one of them will win their second at Wimbledon, with the final taking place at 4pm local time on Saturday, July 11.
