Lorenzo Musetti’s latest win at the Shanghai Masters has continued a remarkable record in 2025 that can only be beaten by Carlos Alcaraz.

Following Musetti’s disappointment in Chengdu, the Italian has bounced back with impressive displays at the Shanghai Masters.

Musetti defeated Luciano Darderi in the third round in Shanghai to set up a tantalising match with Felix Auger-Aliassime, which could have dramatic consequences for ATP Tour Finals qualification.

The Italian’s latest win continued a remarkable run in 2025 that can only be bettered by World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz.

Lorenzo Musetti picks up 19th ATP 1000 win at the Shanghai Masters

Musetti may not have won an ATP 1000 event in 2025, but he’s racked up a remarkable number of wins in the tournaments.

The star’s latest win against Darderi at the Shanghai Masters was his 19th win across the eight tournaments so far in 2025.

Musetti’s best performance at an ATP 1000 event was a final appearance at the Monte Carlo Masters, which saw him lose to Alcaraz.

The Italian has picked up wins against Alex De Minaur, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Auger-Aliassime at ATP 1000 events in 2025.

The star could level Alcaraz’s 2025 record if he reaches the semi-final of the Shanghai Masters, with just one more 1000 event left to play at the Paris Masters.

Lorenzo Musetti’s 2025 record

Musetti’s performances at ATP 1000 events have helped him achieve a breakout year in 2025, which has seen him tread new ground.

The Italian has reached best-ever Grand Slam appearances at the Australian Open, Roland Garros, and the US Open.

That included a semi-final appearance at the French Open, which saw him topple Frances Tiafoe, Mariano Navone, and Holger Rune, before retiring against Alcaraz in the final four.

Musetti reached a career-high of World No. 6 thanks to his displays at Roland Garros and he still has a strong chance of qualifying for the ATP Finals in Turin.

The Italian’s form may have slipped a little in the latter part of the year, but it’s still been a landmark season for Musetti.
