“London would be a dream” Daniil Medvedev reveals ambition for rest of 2019 season
Daniil Medvedev has made it to the final of his last six tournaments winning four of them but he still has one more dream to fulfil this year
Daniil Medvedev wants to win theATP Finals in London to top off what would be the most incredible year in his and many others tennis careers. He’s managed to win 4 of the last 6 ATP events and made it to the final of the US Open along the way. To top it all ff he has the chance of being ranked no.3 in the world when he arrives on the shores of the Thames river to contest the final tournament of they ear with the 7 other best players in the world
When asked which of the his last 3 tournaments he’d like to win most he said, “London, to be honest. It would be a dream. You see, Masters 8, it’s a great competition for everyone. So if you were to ask me one tournament, I would say the ATP finals in London.”
Medvedev started 2019 ranked no.19 in the world. He arrived at Wimbledon with a win at the Sofia Open under his belt plus a credible final in the Barcelona Open but then, since losing to David Goffin in the last 32 at Wimbledon, he’s gone on a spellbinding run of 32 matches with only 2 losses.
