Andy Murray has sporadically returned to tennis since his retirement at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
Murray coached Novak Djokovic for a few months in 2024 and 2025 and he also returned to Queen’s after the event named their main court after him.
The three-time Grand Slam champion has rarely appeared in the tennis world since splitting with Djokovic in May 2025.

Robson and Murray have a long-time friendship and even won an Olympic silver medal together in the mixed doubles at London 2012.
Speaking to Express Sport, Robson said she was desperate for Murray to join her as a tennis pundit this year.
“I’ve told him I’d like to see it! Every time I see him, I’m like: ‘When are you coming on?’. But no, I think he’s just happy to play golf at the minute.

“Eventually, maybe he might find some joy in trying it out. I think he’s very settled at home, but if he eventually decides to do it, I know he’d be great and he would kill it in any sort of analyst role.
“I know he thinks that men’s matches are too long to commentate on as well. So let’s maybe throw him a women’s match and see how that goes.”
The Scot did work on the BBC’s Wimbledon coverage in 2018, but he is yet to return to the primetime slot.

Murray looks unlikely to become a full-time tennis pundit, despite Robson’s consistent requests for him to join her.
The two-time Wimbledon champion expressed his displeasure at most tennis coverage after he had retired in 2024.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, he said: “Everyone agrees with each other all the time – there is no needle in the analysis and I don’t think it’s entertaining, or the best for the sport. One thing I like about football is they disagree.”
The BBC is reportedly looking to Murray to salvage their coverage of Wimbledon in 2026, after being given an ultimatum by the Grand Slam.
The tournament wants the BBC to bring fresh new ideas to the coverage, but it does not look like Murray will provide that.
