The British No.1 came from a set down to win 3-6 7-6(7) 6-2 in two hours and 30 minutes.

Having battled back from 0-3 down, Halep served for the match at 5-4 in the second set and was two points away from victory in the tiebreak before Konta roared back to force a decider before sealing her place in the last four.

"I'm really happy to have come through and am looking forward to the next round," said Konta. "It's going to be a tough one."
