Konta to face Venus in Miami semis
Konta came from a set down to win 3-6 7-6(7) 6-2 in two hours and 30 minutes.
Having battled back from 0-3 down, Halep served for the match at 5-4 in the second set and was two points away from victory in the tiebreak before Konta roared back to force a decider before sealing her place in the last four.
“I’m really happy to have come through and am looking forward to the next round,” said Konta. “It’s going to be a tough one.”
The world No.11 will face Venus Williams in the semi-finals after the American beat world No.1 and top seed Angelique Kerber 7-5 6-3.
Caroline Wozniacki will face Karolina Pliskova in the other semi-final.
