Kirilenko cruises into quarters

The top-seeded Russian dominated their second round clash, posting a 6-3 6-3 result against her Czech opponent.

Kirilenko will face Pauline Parmentier in the quarter-finals after the fifth-seeded Frenchwoman eased past Canadian qualifier Stephanie Dubois, 6-3 6-2.

Third seed Kaia Kanepi was another convincing winner on Thursday, claiming a 6-1 6-1 success against Russia’s Anastasia Pivovarova.

Kanepi’s opponent in the last eight will be Yanina Wickmayer, who upset eighth seed Chan Yung-Jan 6-3 7-6 (7/2).
