It might have taken Jannik Sinner two tournaments to reach top form, but he has looked absolutely unbeatable since Indian Wells.

The Italian suffered defeats to Novak Djokovic and Jakub Mensik at the Australian Open and the Qatar Open, before winning the Sunshine Double.

Sinner surprised many by playing the Monte-Carlo Masters after taking very few days off following his victory at the Miami Open.

The world number two has been putting in the hard yards, but Juan Carlos Ferrero has still noticed a potential weakness for Sinner.

Juan Carlos Ferrero shares one worry he has with Jannik Sinner

In an interview with MARCA, Ferrero shared his thoughts about Sinner losing to Djokovic in the Australian Open semi-final.

“Yes, I was surprised that he lost to Novak. Especially because he had beaten him quite clearly in the last few matches,” he said.

Carlos Alcaraz concedes Jannik Sinner will become world number one!

Will it happen this week in Monte Carlo?

Alcaraz’s former coach pointed out one big potential weakness with Sinner’s game, despite his brilliant form at the Sunshine Double.

He revealed: “I’m a little worried about his physical condition because he already had problems at the beginning of the tournament.

“It’s also true that Novak is Novak, and when he’s playing at 100%, he’s always very difficult to beat. But I wouldn’t say that Sinner disappointed me by losing to Novak because the same thing happened to Carlos last year.”

Sinner struggled to deal with the heat in Melbourne and looked especially worse for wear against Eliot Spizzirri in the third round.

The Italian bounced back from cramp issues once the roof was closed and air conditioning was employed at the Grand Slam.

Jannik Sinner has already shown improvement in his physical condition

Sinner has often struggled dealing with the heat, most notably at the 2025 Shanghai Masters and this year’s Australian Open.

However, it’s a part of the Italian’s game that he has admitted to trying to solve and he’s already shown signs that he has.

The star won Indian Wells in difficult conditions and followed it up in an inconsistent climate at the Miami Open.

Speaking at Indian Wells, Sinner revealed: “We put in very long days of practice. I felt very well prepared, so I was not having big issues with the weather and with the heat, which is very positive for me.

“It’s all part of the process of what we are trying to do and becoming the best possible athlete. We definitely do a lot of work in the gym and to play this level. So I’m very happy.”

Sinner will likely not have to deal with intense heat now until the end of the season during the ATP Tour’s Asian swing.
