Jannik Sinner captured his fourth title of the year by beating Alexander Zverev to win the Vienna Open.

Sinner made yet more history at the Vienna Open and he bounced back from going a set down to beat Zverev.

The World No. 2 shrugged off issues with his hamstring to take the next two sets in a narrow, but entertaining, final at the Vienna Open.

The Italian’s victory over Zverev in Vienna saw him surpass an excellent Andy Murray career record.

Jannik Sinner surpasses Andy Murray hard court record

Sinner’s win over Zverev in Vienna was his 21st victory on an indoor hard court, dating back all the way to 2023.

The Italian is dominant on the surface and he surpassed Murray’s record of 20 straight wins on the indoor surface between 2016 and 2019.

Murray won the Vienna Open, the Paris Masters, the ATP Tour Finals, and the European Open during that time.

Sinner, meanwhile, has managed to win the Rotterdam Open, the ATP Tour Finals, the Davis Cup Finals, and the Vienna Open.

The World No. 2 will look to extend his excellent indoor hard court record as he heads to the Paris Masters looking for his first-ever win at the tournament.

The longest unbeaten streaks at indoor hard-court tournaments

Sinner may have surpassed Murray’s indoor hard court streak, but he has some way to go to beat the overall record.

John McEnroe managed to win 47 straight victories on the indoor surface between 1978 and 1987, which is 13 wins more than anyone else has managed.

Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Ivan Lendl, and Pete Sampras are also above Sinner, but he’s within touching distance from some of the stars.

Sinner needs just four more wins in a row to level Sampras’ winning streak of 25 wins between 1996 and 1997.
