Jannik Sinner has stepped up his preparations ahead of his Wimbledon title defence.

Sinner suffered a shock second round defeat at Roland Garros, having struggled with the heat in his loss to Juan Manuel Cerundolo.

The Italian has not played a match since then, but many still see Sinner as the favourite for Wimbledon this year, especially with Carlos Alcaraz not playing due to his wrist injury.

Although Sinner has not returned to the match court since Roland Garros, he has been seen practicing with a fellow ATP player, who was forced to miss the clay court major due to injury.

Jannik Sinner practices with Arthur Fils ahead of Wimbledon

Sinner was practicing with Arthur Fils at the All England Club ahead of Wimbledon this year, with the Frenchman releasing clips of him hitting with the world number one.

This is particularly significant for Fils, who had withdrawn from Roland Garros and subsequent grass court tournaments due to a hip injury he sustained at the Italian Open.

Concern was growing for Fils, who had spent nearly nine months on the sidelines with a back injury before returning to the ATP Tour in February.

Since coming back to the tour, Fils has won his fourth ATP title in Barcelona, alongside reaching the semi-finals of both the Miami Open and Madrid Open.

This has enabled Fils to climb back up to world number 23 in the rankings, and he is actually seventh in the race to the ATP Finals.

There were doubts over whether Fils would be able to play Wimbledon this year, but after practicing with Sinner it appears that he intends to compete at the grass court major.

Who are the seeds for the men’s singles draw at Wimbledon this year?

With just one week to go until the main draw of Wimbledon, the seeds have been confirmed for the men’s singles draw.

As the world number one, Sinner is the top seed for his title defence, with Roland Garros champion Alexander Zverev the second seed.

Some of the other top seeds include Felix Auger-Aliassime, Ben Shelton, Alex de Minaur and Taylor Fritz, with seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic down as the seventh seed.

Fils will also be seeded at Wimbledon this year, as he is locked in the 20th spot and therefore cannot play the top eight seeds including Sinner until at least the fourth round.
