Jannik Sinner ‘is another level’, insists Nick Kyrgios
Aussie Nick Kyrgios has praised teenage sensation Jannik Sinner after he continued his stunning form, insisting the Italian ‘is another level’.
Sinner overcame Opelka 6-4, 6-2 in dominant fashion in a match that lasted just 64 minutes at the same time winning his 18th consecutive set on indoor hard surfaces.

Kyrgios is yet to face Sinner in singles, but they did face off in Washington, with Sinner defeating Kyrgios in doubles alongside exciting partner Sebastian Korda. The Aussie was clearly impressed by the Italian’s ball-striking, saying he had ‘never played someone who hit the ball as hard’.
Sinner’s latest win boosted his hopes of qualifying for season ending ATP Finals, which will be held in his home country. He has overtaken Indian Wells champion Cameron Norrie, who will play his second round match in Vienna later today.
“I think I had not so many chances and I used them. I think that was the key today,” Sinner said of his latest win against Opelka. “I served well. My service holds were always quite fast and good. I felt well on the baseline, so I knew when I went in a rally that somehow I was going to win the point. But it’s never easy playing against him. You never have rhythm.”
Sinner will take on 116th ranked Austrian Denis Novak in the next round who is yet to beat a top 10 player. Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev and Matteo Berrettini have already qualified for Turin, with two spaces still up for grabs.
