Jannik Sinner confirmed he is indeed a fan of watching tennis after securing his spot in the semi-finals of Wimbledon.

Sinner is feeling good physically after his straight-sets victory over Jan-Lennard Struff, with the pair having met in the blazing London heat.

And when speaking to the media after his latest Wimbledon win, the Italian was tasked with discussing whether he likes to watch his upcoming opponents in action.

In this case, Sinner will meet the winner of Novak Djokovic versus Felix Auger-Aliassime, who were preparing to play shortly after the defending champion beat Struff.

Jannik Sinner confirms he likes watching tennis after latest Wimbledon win

Sharing his approach to the quarter-final between the Serbian and the Canadian on Centre Court, the ATP number one said: “Yeah, of course I’m going to watch. I like to watch tennis, in any case.

“But yeah, of course I also know that it is different because whoever I’m going to play, it’s going to be a different match with me or with anyone else because of certain tactical stuff.

“But yeah, I mean, I’m going to watch. I like to watch tennis in general. It’s going to be a good match I think to watch, as well.

“Then, of course, after it’s a bit different because we have two days off. It’s going to be a very relaxed day tomorrow.

“A little bit harder then the next day again. Then hopefully be ready for the semifinals.”

Sinner holds a narrow 6-5 record over Djokovic in their ATP head-to-head record, and a much more comfortable 5-2 record over Auger-Aliassime.

Jannik Sinner previews possible Wimbledon semi-final vs Novak Djokovic

As Sinner mentioned, his approach to the match will depend on the player on the other side of the Wimbledon net.

But he can certainly rely on recent experience against either, having already met both players in the 2026 season.

He defeated the Canadian in the Monte Carlo quarter-finals, having lost to the Serbian in the Australian Open semi-final.

Discussing if that defeat to Djokovic could impact a possible reunion at Wimbledon, he said: “I mean, first of all, let’s see. He has a tough match.

“If it’s Novak, I feel like every match is different. Even when I had this small streak with him, I felt like every match has really its own story.

“Especially when you play on a surface like this, if you have a bad serving day or not feeling the ball very well, it’s going to be very, very tough.

“In any case, I’m happy to be back in the semis. I’m happy to fight for every ball, then we see. More I cannot do, so…

“He has won this tournament so many times and he knows exactly how to approach it. I’m looking forward to it.

“If it’s Felix, we played each other a couple of times now, so we know a little bit what to expect. We practiced before the tournament. He’s a really, really aggressive player.

“First of all, I’m happy to be there in the semifinals once again here. Trying to play the best possible tennis I can. I hope also for a good day.”

In the other half of the men’s singles draw, Taylor Fritz will take on Alexander Zverev, while Flavio Cobolli meets Arthur Fery.
