Jankovic has yet to win a grand slam title despite sitting at the top of the women’s world rankings and finds herself in the same half of the draw as third seed Dinara Safina and Serbian fifth seed Ana Ivanovic.

Safina has drawn fellow Russian Alla Kudryavtseva, while Ivanovic will face the unseeded German Julia Goerges.

The Williams sisters are both in the bottom half of the draw. Venus will play Angelique Kerber of Germany, while former champion and second seed Serena should comfortably overcome China’s Yuan Meng in her opening match.

Fourth seed Elena Dementieva has drawn Kristina Barrois of Germany.

British players, Anne Keothavong and Melanie South, have drawn seeded players.

South will take on Marion Bartoli (16) in her opening match and Keothavong has drawn Anne Chakvetadze (17).
