Jakub Mensik produced one of the best performances of his career to defeat Jannik Sinner at the Qatar Open.

Sinner is working on improvements with his game, but the Czech 20-year-old’s victory was still incredibly impressive.

Mensik will now play Arthur Fils in the semi-final as he looks to reach the second ATP final of 2026, following his victory at the ASB Classic.

After picking up a surprise victory against Sinner, Mensik now holds an impressive statistic that is better than Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic.

While it is still early days for Mensik, his ability to defeat the best players on the tour is an incredible attribute to have.

The only top five player to defeat Jakub Mensik

Impressively, Mensik’s two losses include his walkover defeat to Djokovic in the round of 16 of the 2026 Australian Open.

Djokovic has also defeated Mensik at the 2014 Shanghai Masters, when the Czech star was first starting to assert himself on the ATP Tour.

Djokovic dispatched Mensik in three sets to confirm his place in the semi-final of the Masters tournament.

Mensik managed to get some revenge by defeating Djokovic in the final of the Miami Open in 2025 to win his first-ever Masters title.
