Iga Swiatek has enjoyed the Korea Open despite the rain delays
Swiatek’s tournament in Seoul has not been without its problems, with the Pole having to play two matches in one day due to rain.
Her clash with Krejčíková was cancelled on September 19 due to downpours, meaning the star was required to play her quarter-final and semi-final on September 20.
Despite the difficulties, Swiatek has enjoyed her time in South Korea’s capital and she is open to returning for next year’s event.
“Thank you guys for coming and being here every day,” said the Pole after confirming her place in the semi-final of the event.
“Even when it’s raining. It’s been really lovely,” she added. “I feel a lot of support. I’m happy to be here and experience that. For sure it’s gonna motivate me to come back the next years.”
Swiatek’s 2025 appearance at the tournament marks the first time she has played in Seoul, beginning the Wimbledon champion’s Asian leg.’

That’s the record number for the year, a feat she shares with two of her biggest rivals, Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka.
Swiatek will play Australian Maya Joint in the semi-finals of the Korea Open, with the final set to be played on September 20.
