Iga Swiatek’s season ended with a whimper as she crashed out of the WTA Finals during the round robin phase.
The World No. 2 suffered back-to-back defeats to Elena Rybakina and Amanda Anisimova to ensure she would not qualify for the knockout stages in Saudi Arabia.
Swiatek looked off the pace at the WTA Finals, and it caps off a strange season which saw her win her first Wimbledon, but also win fewer tournaments than the previous three years.
The Pole is currently at the centre of plenty of worrying statistics as she ended her season on a surprising low.

Iga Swiatek’s declining win/loss ratio in 2025
Swiatek’s middling 2025 is best exemplified by the star’s struggling win/loss ratio, which is lower than her last three seasons.
The world number two has won 62 matches in 2025 and lost 17, which equates to a 78% win record across the season.
| Iga Swiatek’s Win/Loss Record | Year | % |
| 62-17 | 2025 | 78% |
| 64-9 | 2024 | 88% |
| 68-11 | 2023 | 86% |
This season, Swiatek has lost almost as many matches as in 2022 and 2024 combined, which just shows the decrease the the Pole’s level across the year.
The star did not win a tournament for the entire first half of the calendar year and only reached a final in Bad Homburg in June.
Swiatek’s second half of the season was much more impressive, with wins at Wimbledon, the Cincinnati Open, and the Korea Open.
The players who defeated Iga Swiatek in 2025
13 different players managed to get the better of Swiatek across 2025, which is more than any of the last three years.
Anisimova and Mirra Andreeva managed to defeat Swiatek on multiple occasions, but perhaps more surprising was Jelena Ostapenko’s dominance against the Pole.
Ostapenko shocked Swiatek twice, in Qatar and Stuttgart, despite having a disappointing singles year herself.
Swiatek also suffered losses to Rybakina, Jasmine Paolini, Emma Navarro, Clara Tauson, Jessica Pegula, Sabalenka, Danielle Collins, Coco Gauff, Alexandra Eala and Madison Keys.
Eala holds the record for the lowest-ranked player to defeat Swiatek this year, when she knocked the star out of the Miami Open while ranked World No. 140.
