Iga Swiatek collected her third title of 2025 at the Korean Open and it’s helped her achieve another slice of tennis history.
Swiatek battled severe rain delays to win the Korea Open, narrowly defeating Ekaterina Alexandrova in the final in Seoul.
The Pole is on track to topple Aryna Sabalenka at the top of the WTA rankings by the end of the year, and she’s also collected another accolade.
The star’s 25th trophy of her career has earned her an accolade that not even Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner can claim.

Iga Swiatek becomes the first star born after 2000 to reach 25 titles
Swiatek’s win in Korea continues her incredible early career run and means she is the first man or woman born after 2000 to win 25 titles.
That puts Swiatek far above the other two most successful rising stars in tennis, Alcaraz and Sinner.
Sinner has 21 titles in his fledgling career, including two Grand Slam trophies in 2025 with the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
Meanwhile, Alcaraz has lifted 14 trophies since making his debut, including the recently won US Open title.
Swiatek has still not played the mandatory number of WTA 500 events for 2025, meaning she should be entered in more events before the end of the year.
The Pole could have more titles on the horizon too as she prepares for a busy end of the year schedule with the WTA’s Asian leg.
Iga Swiatek’s schedule for the rest of 2025
There are no signs of rest for the World No. 2 as Swiatek is expected to appear at the China Open on September 24.
Swiatek is also expected to play the Wuhan Open, which begins on October 6, a tournament that has been won by Sabalenka in the last three years.
The Pole’s 2025 season will conclude with the WTA Finals on November 1, which sees the top eight ranked players collide in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Swiatek won her sole WTA Finals trophy in 2023 after she defeated Jessica Pegula in straight sets in the final.
