Jannik Sinner survived some early troubles to emerge victorious at Wimbledon.
The Italian superstar was pushed to five sets in round one, and struggled to dominate proceedings in consecutive matches.
However, he well and truly kicked into gear in the semi-finals, comfortably defeating Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
Sinner then defeated Alexander Zverev in four sets to claim a second consecutive Wimbledon title.

Sinner’s victory in the final was supported by an excellent serving display – the Italian rarely misfired and maintained a stranglehold on his service games throughout the match.
With the Italian serving so well in the final, it is worth comparing this performance to the one he recorded against Carlos Alcaraz in the 2025 Wimbledon final.
Comparing Jannik Sinner’s serve in the 2026 Wimbledon final to 2025
Sinner served superbly in the 2026 Wimbledon final, striking 15 aces and winning 80 per cent of his first serve points.
He also won 65 per cent of his second-serve points and hit only two double faults.
When comparing this serving performance to the one Sinner registered against Carlos Alcaraz in the 2025 Wimbledon final, one conclusion emerges.
Sinner served at a higher level against Alexander Zverev in this year’s Wimbledon showpiece than he did against Alcaraz in last year’s final.
However, that is not to say that Sinner served poorly in last year’s final; far from it. The Italian served eight aces, winning 75 per cent of his first-serve points and 61 per cent of his second-serve points.

Novak Djokovic commented on Sinner’s serve after their semi-final clash at Wimbledon.
“I mean, serve, very difficult to read his serve,” Djokovic admitted. “Incredible weapon has become last couple years since he changed his technique.
“Of course, he’s as solid as anyone from back of the court. That’s it.”

In June last year, Sinner suffered one of the most excruciating defeats in tennis history.
The Italian squandered three consecutive championship points before losing a five-set thriller to Carlos Alcaraz in the Roland Garros final.
Sinner avenged that loss a month later, beating Alcaraz 4–6, 6–4, 6–4, 6–4 in the Wimbledon final.
“I had a very tough loss in Paris, but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter how you win or lose – you just have to understand what you did wrong,” Sinner said afterwards.
“We accepted the loss, kept working and that’s why I’m holding this trophy.”
“It is always difficult to lose, but first of all I have to congratulate Jannik again,” an ever-gracious Alcaraz said during his runner-up speech.
“It is a really well-deserved trophy. He has been playing great tennis and will continue to be a great rival.”
