Roger Federer is considered one of the greatest players in the history of tennis, alongside Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams.
The Swiss legend won 20 Grand Slams during his career, including eight Wimbledon titles.
Federer turned professional in 1998 and battled on the ATP Tour until his retirement in 2022, securing the career Grand Slam in 2009 and winning 103 ATP Tour titles.
For all his brilliance, some players did manage to get the better of Federer, including Novak Djokovic, who leads Federer by 27 wins to 23 and recently surpassed a record previously held by the Swiss legend.

One player who never reached the ATP top 10 defeated Federer in the only match they contested, during the early portion of the Swiss star’s career.
Francisco Clavet won the shortest completed match in ATP history
Former world number 18 Francisco Clavet recorded the shortest completed match win in ATP history when he competed at the Shanghai Open in 2000.
The Spaniard, who won eight ATP titles during his career, faced China’s Shan Jiang in the first round.
Clavet defeated Jiang in double-quick time, winning the contest 6-0, 6-0 in just 25 minutes.
Clavet was a force to be reckoned with during his career, securing victories against John McEnroe, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, Lleyton Hewitt and Mats Wilander.

The former Indian Wells champion defeated Federer in the only match they contested, at the 2000 Cincinnati Open.
In the first round, Clavet defeated Federer 7-6, 7-6, before losing to eighth seed Marat Safin in the second round.
Seventh seed Thomas Enqvist won the tournament, defeating British star Tim Henman in the final.
Clavet never made it past the fourth round of a Grand Slam
During a career that spanned over a decade, Francisco made the fourth round of a Grand Slam on four occasions.
His first appearance in the fourth round of a major occurred at the 1991 French Open, where he defeated Kelly Evernden, Cedric Pioline and Olivier Delaître before losing to second seed Boris Becker.
Clavet repeated the feat five years later at the 1996 French Open, this time losing to eventual champion Yevgeny Kafelnikov in the fourth round.
In 1998, Clavet twice reached the fourth round of a Slam.
At the French Open, he lost to Filip Dewulf in the fourth round. At Wimbledon, he defeated second seed Marcelo Rios in the first round, Guillermo Canas in the second and 2002 Australian Open champion Thomas Johansson in the third. He then lost to Belgian player Filip Dewulf in the fourth round.
