Iga Swiatek split from Wim Fissette after her second-round defeat at the Miami Open.

It’s unclear who will replace Fissette, but the early favorite for the role, Piotr Wozniacki, has now confirmed he won’t coach Swiatek.

Does Iga Swiatek now win the French Open after changing coaches? 🤔

During the latest episode of ‘Off Court Cuts‘, former US Open finalist Greg Rusedski was asked if he’d consider coaching Swiatek.

Greg Rusedski says Iga Swiatek has to call him if she wants him to coach her

“She has got to call me,” said Rusedski.

“You always want the player to call you, because then you get buy-in.

“If you are calling them, then you don’t always get the right buy-in.”

Rusedski has worked with several British players in the past, including 2018 Australian Open semifinalist Kyle Edmund.

The 52-year-old didn’t rule himself out of contention, although it’s unclear whether Swiatek would be interested in his services.

Rusedski proceeded to give his verdict on Fissette after his dismissal.

“I know Wim Fissette very well. He is a great coach,” said Rusedski.

“He worked with Jo Konta and Naomi Osaka.

“He knows what he is doing out there and has had some great runs with the players.

“But obviously, since winning Wimbledon, they haven’t had the results they would like.

Iga Swiatek’s record post-Wimbledon

“I’m sure Wim [Fissette] will be back on tour very soon because he is one of the best in the business, but it’s also about getting that personality right.”

Rusedski thinks Swiatek is ‘too intense’, but backs her to address that in the future.

“Sometimes [Iga] Swiatek looks a little bit too intense,” he said.

“She has got to learn how to go off court and relax and then bring the intensity on court.

“I am sure she will get the balance right, but this clay court season coming up is huge, because she was supposed to be the new Rafa [Nadal] in the women’s game.

“Just dominating every year and winning Roland Garros, but it hasn’t happened.”

Rusedski questions the Nadal/Swiatek comparisons, although the numbers tell a different story.

Of course, Nadal has the edge, but the gap isn’t egregious.

Just because Swiatek struggled on clay in 2025, it shouldn’t be forgotten just how dominant she’s been on the surface over the years.

Where will Iga Swiatek begin her clay season?

Swiatek is scheduled to return to action at the Stuttgart Open, in April.

The Pole is a former two-time winner in Stuttgart, but lost to the eventual champion Jelena Ostapenko in the quarterfinals last year.

In 2026, she will be joined by several big names in Germany, including Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, and Elena Rybakina.

The event is one of just three indoor clay-court events on the 2026 WTA Tour calendar, and one of two at the WTA 500 level.

Only time will tell who will lift this year’s title…

The 2026 Stuttgart Open begins on Monday, April 13.
