Piotr Wozniacki, Caroline Wozniacki’s dad, was heavily rumoured to become Iga Swiatek’s new coach.
The rumours began to circulate after Swiatek fired her previous coach, Wim Fissette.

Wozniacki has now declared whether he would be interested in coaching Swiatek, a six-time Grand Slam champion.
Piotr Wozniacki ‘definitely’ won’t be Iga Swiatek’s next coach
As reported by ‘Interia Sport‘, Wozniacki denied any interest in becoming the Pole’s new coach.
“I definitely won’t be Iga Swiatek’s new coach,” he said.
“Someone passed this by. No one talked to me. And even if they did, I’ve finished my coaching career.”

He did, however, name a coach Swiatek should consider.
“If Iga Swiatek’s team, or Iga herself, hasn’t yet made a decision regarding Wim Fissette’s successor, I’m speaking out, and I know what I’m talking about,” said Wozniacki.
“Dawid Celt should be considered.
“He may not have won six Grand Slams with a player, but he was and is with former player Agnieszka Radwanska; he’s the national team coach, he knows how to communicate, and he knows how to do things.
“He also thinks in Polish, and that’s a very important element here.
“It’s the simplest thing that could happen practically overnight. They both live in Poland, in Warsaw. It’s the perfect arrangement to get a little something different.”
Dawid Celt, 40, coached Agnieszka Radwanska (now his wife) to a career-high ranking of second and the Wimbledon final in 2012.

He also has a pre-existing relationship with Swiatek, from his time coaching Poland’s Billie Jean King Cup and United Cup teams.
Wozniacki believes the Polish connection might help Swiatek, who has struggled for form in 2026, slipping to 11th in the ‘Live WTA Race’.

“I know Iga communicates in various languages, but she thinks in Polish. That doesn’t mean she should have only Polish coaches, God forbid, because that would lead to absurdity,” he said.
“However, I think that right now is a very good time to try again with someone from Poland.”
Interestingly, Swiatek expressed her intent to hire a non-Polish coach when she split from Tomasz Wiktorowski in 2024.
The Pole issued the following statement on Instagram.
“I’m in the middle of first talks with coaches from abroad (non-Polish), because I’m ready to take the next step in my career,” said Swiatek.
Wozniacki believes Swiatek should now hire a fellow Pole, after her 17-month stint with Belgium’s Fissette.
Only time will tell who Swiatek will choose as her new coach.
Is Caroline Wozniacki retired from tennis?
Her father said he was done with coaching, but is Wozniacki planning on returning anytime soon?
The Dane gave birth to her third child last year, and implied she was done with professional tennis during an appearance on the ‘Nothing Major‘ podcast.
“No, I think that’s a no,” said Wozniacki.
“I have a long time to decide… if I feel like I can get back into shape, never say never.

“But at this point, three little kids, it’s a full-time job already.”
If Wozniacki is truly finished, she can retire proud of her efforts on tour.
She was ranked number one in the world and won the Australian Open in 2018.
