The British number three, who reached the semi-finals as a qualifier, was edged out 7-6 (7/5) 6-3 in windy conditions.

Goodall, from Basingstoke, said: “It was difficult conditions and I guess other people might have seen it differently, but I thought that I was unlucky on some of the big points. I played okay and there wasn’t a lot between us, I was just slightly unlucky.”

Bozoljac, the fifth seed, will face America’s Brendan Evans in Sunday’s final after he beat Sergei Bubka 7-5 6-4.

The women’s final earlier in the day was played indoors because of bad weather and it was Spain’s Maria Elena Camerin who walked off with the trophy.

The world number 99 was a 6-2 4-6 6-1 winner against Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland.
