Iga Swiatek made an impressive return at Roland Garros in usual circumstances, facing her best friend in Kaja Juvan.
Despite a hotly contested second set, Swiatek refused to be overawed by the occasion, prevailing 6-0 7-5 to continue her fine form.
😊Paris… It's so good to be back here. Thank you Kaja for your sportsmanship and thank you @rolandgarros for birthday gift and wishes.
😊Jak dobrze znowu być w Paryżu…
Kaja, dzięki za Twoją klasę. Dziękuję też za życzenia, upominek i ciepłe słowa. pic.twitter.com/oezEfUHCsJ— Iga Świątek (@iga_swiatek) May 31, 2021
World No 2 Daniil Medvedev finally broke his Roland Garros duck on day two with an impressive straight sets victory over Alexander Bublik.
The Russian failed to win a single match in his previous four attempts, though could reach the latter stages in a far more preferable half of the draw.
The question is, which Russian will go further in this year’s French Open Daniil Medvedev or Andrey Rublev? Or could it be Aslan Karatsev or Karen Khachanov?
After the World No. 2 had an impressive victory yesterday, we're posing the question…
Who goes further at #RolandGarros?
