French Open Social Slice: What’s on the line for Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic?
On today’s Social Slice, we look at what victory would mean for both Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic as well as delving into the latest on the other French Open semi-final.
Firstly, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic face off in a repeat of last year’s French Open final.
Both players will be playing for history as Djokovic wants to edge closer to 20 Grand Slams, whilst Nadal could move within one victory of a record 21 Major titles.
Playing for history.
Should 🇷🇸 @DjokerNole win, it puts him one match away from a 19th Grand Slam singles trophy, and just one behind Nadal and Federer on 20.
But should 🇪🇸 @RafaelNadal triumph, he moves to within one victory of a men’s record 21st Slam title. #RolandGarros

What a lineup. In one semi-final, we have two players who will be at the forefront of the men’s game for many years to come and in the other we have two of the greatest players of all time.
Will Nadal reach yet another final? Will the differing conditions at this year’s event help Djokovic? Could Tsitsipas or Zverev win their first Grand Slam?
Who’s ready for men’s semifinals action at Roland-Garros?
Best of luck to all the players that have made it this far!

Barbora Krejcikova thanked her team and the heroes of Czech tennis after beating Maria Sakkari in a marathon semi-final.
The Czech star also paid tribute to Jana Novotna in an emotional post-match interview – her former manager who died of cancer at the age of 49.
She will be very proud, Barbora!
Krejcikova thanks her team, heroes of Czech tennis & then:
'Jana Novotna from upstairs … She was really looking after me.
'And I really miss her and I just want to thank her because … because of her I'm here. It's really important to me to say this out loud.' pic.twitter.com/hzs2oyQIHP

Although French fans have had little to shout about since the heroics of Yannick Noah in 1983, the juniors singles suggests that French fortunes will change in years to come.
All four of the semi-finalists in the boys category are all French – impressive.

Maria Sakkari, the Greek star who ousted tournament favourite Iga Swiatek, fell just short to Krejcikova in an absolute classic.
After the match, Sakkari received a standing ovation from the French crowd and one of the best receptions at the event this year.
Just listen to this.
Commiserations to @mariasakkari 🙏
