On today’s Social Slice, Roger Federer makes his final French Open preparations and tributes for Iga Swiatek’s 20th birthday pour in ahead of her first-round clash. 

20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer finally makes his return at a Grand Slam later today after 487 days since his last Grand Slam match.

The Swiss star took to social media ahead of his clash against Denis Istomin with a rather comical image of him back on Parisian soil.

Meanwhile, defending champion Iga Swiatek celebrates her 20th birthday today ahead of her first-round clash against Kaja Juvan,

Number two seed Daniil Medvedev is gearing up to face Alexander Bublik in an intriguing clash as he bids to win his first ever match on Parisian soil at the French Open.

The match has been dubbed ‘must-see TV’ by the official Roland Garros twitter account.

Also on day two will be the first official night session in the history of Roland Garros.

The match will feature 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams, who takes on Irina-Camelia Begu at 9 p.m. Paris time Monday under the lights of Court Chatrier.

The French faithful will be hoping for a positive day two after home favourites Corentin Moutet and Jeremy Chardy were amongst those to lose on day one.

Alize Cornet, Jo-Wilfriend Tsonga and Pierre-Hugues Herbert are just some of the French stars in action on Monday.
