Emma Raducanu’s partnership with Francisco Roig lasted just six months, as they announced their split after the Australian Open.
Raducanu’s decision to work with Rafael Nadal’s former coach was much-anticipated, but the British star’s form did not hit the heights expected.
Mark Petchey has re-joined Raducanu’s coaching team, while the Spanish coach has also landed a new role.
Roig has been spotted working with a high-profile ATP Tour star at Indian Wells, just days before the Masters event kicks off.

Francisco Roig spotted working with Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard
According to Groundpass, Roig is working with Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in California ahead of Indian Wells.
The big serving Frenchman split with his long-time coach Emmanuel Planque earlier this month, after four years working together.
Who should be Emma Raducanu’s next coach?
Should Roig land the role full-time, it will mark the first time he’s coached a male star since his 10 months with Matteo Berrettini between 2023 and 2024.
Mpetshi Perricard is in desperate need of new ideas, having fallen from a career ranking high of World No. 29 to his current ranking of world number 56 over the last year.
The Frenchman has been knocked out of the first round of a tournament on four occasions so far this year, including the Australian Open and the Qatar Open.
Why Emma Raducanu and Francisco Roig split
Roig and Raducanu appeared to get on well on a personal level, but they seemed to have a different point of view in regard to how the British star’s game should change.
Raducanu did not look comfortable playing under Roig, particularly in the early stretches of the 2026 season.

Confirming the news via an Instagram post, Raducanu confirmed her split with Roig in late January.
Raducanu said: “Francis, thank you for our time together. You have been more than a coach to me and I will cherish the many good times we spent together on the court.
“While we have come to the conclusion together that we ought not to move forward, please know that I am very grateful for all you have taught me and fond of our time shared.”
Despite her turbulent time with coaches, Raducanu has continued to climb the rankings and she currently sits at world number 24.
