Novak Djokovic Australian Open 2021

Former world No.1 claims there’s “not one chance” of Novak Djokovic playing the Australian Open

Novak Djokovic won’t have had any warm up matches which means he’s not going to try and play in the first Grand Slam of the year, according to Spain’s former Davis Cup captain

Novak Djokovic won’t try to add to his tally of 20 Grand slam singles titles at the 2022 Australian Open because he’s never tried to win the tournament without warm up matches according to Emilio Sanchez, a former world no.1 doubles player and brother to Arantxa Sanchez Vicario who herself is facing a possible lengthy jail term for alleged tax evasion

Currently Djokovic hasn’t confirmed his vaccination status which means there is a possibility he wouldn’t be bale to play the Australian Open anyway, but after pulling out of the ARP Cup which is a team event that takes place in Australian before the Australian open, Sanchez Vicario believe3s that a lack of match practise will make the decision for Djokovic.

Speaking on Twitter, the Spaniard said, “for everyone with the hope that he goes to AO. He will withdraw also from AO. For me there is not one chance that
@DjokerNole”

He then clarified the statement with a follow up, “I was just telling my opinion, I don’t know him, I don’t have a crystal ball, but doesn’t look good for him to play. I admire him, his career, and his professionalism. My question is, how many times he played AO without any match before? Hopefully I’m wrong and he’ll play.”
