Eva Lys has named Alexandra Eala as one of her best friends on the WTA Tour right now.

Lys and Eala are two of the most popular players in women’s tennis right now, and they also get along well with each other.

The German has previously spoken about her admiration for Eala, but she is not the only player that Lys is close to.

When asked about people she gets along with the most on tour, Lys named three other WTA players alongside Eala.

Eva Lys suggests her four best friends on the WTA Tour right now

Lys spoke to German news outlet Tennis Magazin, where she was asked about the players she trusted the most on tour.

The world number 80 named Eala, as well as Madrid Open champion Marta Kostyuk, Coco Gauff and Zeynep Sonmez, with Lys speaking about the similarities in age being a big contributing factor in this, as well as explaining the difficulties for players at the top of the rankings making friends.

Is Marta Kostyuk a dark horse to win the French Open?

She's just won the Madrid Open!

“I have a good rapport with many players, whether it’s Marta Kostyuk, Coco Gauff, Alexandra Eala, or even younger players like Zeynep Sonmez,” said Lys.

“Because we all had a similar breakthrough last year and are also of a similar age, you naturally connect with them. You share the same fears and problems.

“You have to earn respect on the tour; one good tournament isn’t enough. But when you support each other, which is the case with these players, then I’m grateful for that interpersonal support. I know that’s not the case for many players. The atmosphere at the top of the rankings is really tough.”
