Emma Raducanu - US Open 2024

Emma Raducanu Schedule: What is next for the 2021 US Open champion?

Emma Raducanu suffered a disappointing first round exit at the US Open last month, and has vowed to look at her scheduling after receiving criticism for the lack of matchplay prior to the New York major.

Raducanu spent the majority of 2023 on the sidelines, after undergoing surgeries to both wrists and her left ankle, which has led to more of a restricted schedule this year for the 21-year-old.

The Brit has only played 13 events in 2024, but has a positive win-loss record of 18-12 after reaching the semi-finals in Nottingham, advancing to the last-16 of Wimbledon and helping Great Britain qualify for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals.

However, Raducanu did receive lots of criticism for electing to skip the Olympics and only playing one tournament in the build-up to the US Open, but she now seems to have a busy few weeks ahead.

Emma Raducanu Official Schedule

After disappointment in New York, Raducanu appears to have changed her strategy after entering four upcoming tournaments in Asia.

Here is Raducanu’s official schedule for the next couple of months:

Korea Open, Seoul (WTA 500) – Begins Monday 16th September

China Open, Beijing (WTA 1000) – Begins Wednesday 25th September

Guangzhou International Women’s Open, Guangzhou (WTA 250) – Begins Monday 21st October

Hong Kong Open, Hong Kong (WTA 250) – Begins Monday 28th October

How could this impact Emma Raducanu’s WTA Ranking?

After missing eight months of action last year, Raducanu began the year ranked outside the WTA top 300, but has since climbed up to her current ranking of No.72.

With Raducanu having no points to defend for the rest of the year, the only way is up for the 2021 US Open champion with big potential points on the line.

Here is a breakdown of this:

Emma Raducanu’s Current Ranking: No.72 (917 points)

Emma Raducanu’s Current Position in the WTA Race (Points Earned in 2024): No.49

Maximum number of points Raducanu could earn from four upcoming tournaments: 2000

Minimum number of points Raducanu could earn from four upcoming tournaments: 13
