Emma Raducanu destroys opponent to progress at US open
Great Britain has a new tennis star in the making as 18 year old Emma Raducanu strolls into the second week of the US Open
Emma Raducanu annihilated her very experienced Spanish opponent Sara Sorribes Tormo 6-0, 6-1 in just 70 minutes.
Raducanu is the youngest Britain to make it this far in the women’s singles in New York and is following up a similarly astonishing run to the fourth round at Wimbledon just a couple of months ago.

Raducanu could have own the match 6-0, 6-0 but Sorribes Tormo managed to salvage some scoreline dignity by holding her serve however this was just a small blip for the Brit as she held with ease in the next game to seal a historic victory.
Raducanu won more than double the points of the Spaniard and will now most likely face world no.1 and top seed Ash Barty in the fourth round.
