Emma Raducanu and fellow US Open champion handed Miami Open wildcards
Emma Raducanu has been awarded a Miami Open wildcard, confirming her participation at both sunshine double tournaments this year.
Raducanu has been given passage into the second leg of the Sunshine Double alongside 2020 US Open champion Dominic Thiem as they both look to climb back up the rankings.
The Brit has not played since the Australian Open, and will be coming into the tournament off the back of withdrawing from the ATX Open this week with tonsillitis.
Speaking in a video on the Miami Open social media accounts Raducanu said, “Hey guys, it’s Emma here. I’m really looking forward to coming to Miami for the Miami 2023 Open and I look forward to seeing you there.”
See you in Miami soon, @EmmaRaducanu! 😎

This will be only Raducanu’s second appearance at the tournament, as the Brit looks for her first win at the Floridian WTA 1000 event.
Dominic Thiem has a bit more experience in Miami, having played the event on five previous occasions, reaching the quarter-finals in 2015.
However, after a lengthy struggle with injury, he has not played the second half of the sunshine double since 2019.

The world No.99 will be hoping for a 2015-like performance this year, having won only one of his seven matches in 2023 so far.
Both Raducanu and Thiem, also received wildcards for Indian Wells, however the former has since made her way into the draw directly and no longer needs the wildcard.
There could be a similar fate for the 20-year-old with her Miami wildcard, as she currently sits as fourth alternate, but this gives her the security that she knows will not need to play qualifying.
The Indian Wells main draw begins next week on Wednesday 8th March, with the Miami Open commencing two weeks later on the 22nd March.
Raducanu will first take to the court at the Eisenhower Cup charity mixed doubles exhibition event, on Tuesday 7th March, alongside fellow British No.1 Cameron Norrie.
Thiem will also be in doubles action in the desert, as he partners Roland Garros and US Open runner-up Casper Ruud in the ATP doubles draw.
