Elena Rybakina confirms the tournaments she will play ahead of Roland Garros

Elena Rybakina has been one of the stories of the 2026 season so far on the WTA Tour.

The star has dislodged Iga Swiatek as the world number two thanks to her early performances on the WTA Tour.

Rybakina is the only player to defeat Aryna Sabalenka in 2026 after beating her in the Australian Open final to win the second Grand Slam of her career.

The star begins the clay court season 3000 points behind Sabalenka at the top of the WTA Tour and she has now announced her upcoming schedule.

Elena Rybakina’s clay court schedule revealed

Rybakina is set to play four tournaments on the clay, which will culminate with the second Grand Slam of the season at Roland Garros.

She will begin on the clay at a bumper Women’s Stuttgart Open, which features all of the current WTA Tour top five.

Rybakina has won the event in Stuttgart once before, lifting the trophy in 2024 by defeating Marta Kostyuk in the final.

Elena Rybakina’s 2026 clay court schedule

After the German WTA 500 event, Rybakina will compete at back-to-back Masters tournaments in Madrid and Rome.

The star has never won the Madrid Open, but she did lift the Italian Open in 2023 to enter the top five of the rankings for the first time in her career.

Following an intense period, Rybakina will head to the French Open where she is looking to build on two quarter-final appearances previously.

Rybakina has won three clay court titles in her career and reached another final with a loss in Strasbourg in 2020.

The star has won a tournament on the surface for the last three years and she’s built up an impressive win-loss record.

Who wins more Grand Slams in their career – Elena Rybakina or Aryna Sabalenka?

Ahead of the 2026 clay court season, Rybakina holds a 63–23 win-loss record, which equates to an impressive 73% win rate.

Although it’s a far smaller sample size than hard court and grass, that means clay is statistically Rybakina’s most successful surface.

Rybakina has won 71% of her matches on hardcourt, while on grass she has a slightly better record of a 72% win rate.
