The Argentinian squeezed past second seed Dominika Cibulkova via another final set tie-break, eventually clinching victory 6-7 6-3 7-6 (6) in a match lasting well over three hours.

In her first semi-final of the season, Dulko will face surprise package Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez. The Spaniard overcame her compatriot and seventh seed Carla Suarez Navarro 4-6 6-3 6-0.

Top seed Caroline Wozniacki was pushed to the limit but still managed to get the better of Russia’s Maria Kirilenko, sealing her place in the last four with a 7-5 7-6 success.

Wozniacki will meet Italian Flavia Pennetta in the semi-finals, after she made short work of Russian youngster Alla Kudryavtseva, winning 6-4 6-2 in the last match of the day.
