Dulgheru stuns Bondarenko

Romania’s Dulgheru, ranked 201st in the world, won 7-6 (7/3) 3-6 6-0 in just under three hours to complete a fairytale week.

The final was interrupted twice by rain and plagued by strong winds, but 19-year-old Dulgheru – who was a qualifier for the tournament – kept her nerve to display a range of powerful groundstrokes and deft drop shots.
