“Don’t spread fake bulls**t” – Players slam allegations of rigged drug testing process

An investigation that had supposedly uncovered abnormalities in the blood testing of professional tennis players by drug doping authorities has been widely criticised by leading players including former US finalist Madison Keys

The process of drug testing tennis players was put under the spotlight by an allegedly thorough investigation that was supposed to have revealed concerning lapses in protocol however that investigation is being widely mocked and challenged by professional tennis players

According to the report published in the Mail on Sunday British newspaper, “Players were invited to secure time slots for blood-doping tests before this year’s Miami Open, a method anti-doping experts say makes a ‘huge difference’ to cheats seeking to escape detection.”

However, Madison Keys has been particularly vocal on the accusations saying on her person Twitter account,

“They use ā€œbookedā€ blood passport samples as a baseline to test future samples against. I was woken up at 6:30am literally 3 days ago for an unscheduled doping test. Donā€™t spread fake bullshit”

Keys’ comments were also backed up by WTA Pro Andrea Petkovic who replied saying,

“This is dangerously misrepresented. The ā€œdoping testā€ we were able to ā€œscheduleā€ during Miami was a collection of the blood passport which is a blood sample athletes give every year so actual UNSCHEDULED doping tests can be compared to said sample & searched for abnormalities.”
