Djokovic to kick things off in Shanghai


The countdown to this years ATP Tennis Masters Cup continues and we now know the order of play for the first days play on Sunday. World No.3 Novak Djokovic and Argentine Juan Martin Del Potro have the honour of raising the curtain on proceedings at 2pm local time in the Qi Zhong arena.

The first day features action from the Gold Group with Russian Nikolay Davydenko and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga following them onto court.

After two singles the eight-team doubles event will begin in style with the American Bryan brothers facing off against Argentine French Open champions Pablo Cuevas and Luis Horna.

The last match of the day on Sunday will see Indian Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles of the Bahamas take on South African pair Jeff Coetzee and Wes Moodie.

The Red Group will burst into life on Monday with top seed Roger Federer against Frenchman Gilles Simon before British world No.4 Andy Murray and American Andy Roddick go toe-to-toe in the night match.

There are also two doubles contests on Monday before the singles.

Canadian Daniel Nestor and Serb partner Nenad Zimonjic open the days play against Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski from Poland before Swede Jonas Bjorkman and Zimbabwes Kevin Ullyett go up against Czech Lukas Dlouhy and Leander Paes from India.
