Djokovic through after scare

Djokovic progresses through to a third-round meeting with 14th seed Ivo Karlovic of Croatia, but had this match gone the distance there was no guarantee the Serbian ace would have advanced. Hanescu stunned his more-illustrious opponent by taking the first set, but lost a tie-break in the second.

Hanescu then picked up what appeared to be a groin injury that needed treatment prior to the third game of the third set. He carried on for a while, but was clearly struggling and, with the score at 6-7 (8/10) 7-6 (8/6) 3-1 in favour of Djokovic, Hanescu was forced to call it a day.
