Djokovic strides past Hernych

Djokovic needed only 52 minutes to inflict a 6-0 6-0 defeat on Czech Jan Hernych.

But fourth seed Marin Cilic was involved in a three-hour epic before eventually ousting Viktor Troicki of Serbia 7-6 (9/7) 6-7 (8/10) 7-6 (8/6). Stanislas Wawrinka, the sixth seed, also went through with a 7-5 2-6 6-1 win over Jarkko Nieminen.

Wild card Marco Chiudinelli came from behind to beat Michael Lammer 2-6 6-3 6-3, while Richard Gasquet likewise recovered from losing the opening set to beat American John Isner 4-6 7-6 (11/9) 6-2.
