Novak Djokovic overtakes great Andre Agassi and approaches Nadal and Federer rankings record

Novak Djokovic is now fourth in the all-time list of most weeks inside the ATP top 10 in the Open Era.

The 21-time Slam champion has overtaken former world number one and eight-time Major champion Andre Agassi with his 748th week inside the men’s top 10.

That equates to more than 14 years total among the 10 best men on the ATP tour since first getting there in March 2007 an astounding feat.

The three men who can boast a greater tally than Djokovic are another eight-time Slam winner in Jimmy Connors, plus Djokovic’s two greatest rivals: Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

Connors spent 816 weeks, more than 15 and a half years, inside the top 10 from when the ATP rankings began in August 1973 until his last week there in April 1989.

Nadal has not dropped out of the top 10 since first entering in April 2005, totalling 883 consecutive weeks among the group, just short of 17 years straight not including the Covid-frozen rankings in 2020, a record for most consecutive weeks in the top 10.

Federer holds the outright record for most weeks inside the top 10 at 968, between May 2002 and October 2021, more than 18 and a half years in all.

Djokovic famously holds the record for most weeks at ATP world number with 373, just over seven years, a year more than second-placed Federer at 310.
