‘Djokovic is definitely favourite for Wimbledon’ says Mouratoglou

Serena Williams’ coach Patrick Mouratoglou has made Novak Djokovic the favourite to win 2021 Wimbledon.

Djokovic is defending champion after winning the 2019 title with a thrilling five set win against Roger Federer.

The Serb won the French Open earlier this month, adding to his Australian Open win in February. The 34-year-old has not lost a match on Centre Court since his 2013 final defeat to Andy Murray. With five Wimbledon titles already to his name, Djokovic will be confident of winning another to his collection.

The World Number 1 is targeting the Golden Slam, if successful Djokovic would pass Federer and Rafael Nadal on the all-time Grand Slam list with 21 majors.

“Novak is definitely favourite. The golden slam is a lot of pressure, he knows he can and he knows he can overtake the two other guys and that is his goal. He wants to be the one with the most Grand Slams, so that’s going to be the biggest challenge for him to deal with that pressure.” said Mouratoglou.

Djokovic will take on Great Britain’s Jack Draper in the opening round on Centre Court tomorrow.
