Last year, Dan Evans admitted that his professional tennis career was ‘coming to an end.’

The former British number one made the comment after losing to Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon Men’s Singles second round.

Since then, Evans has played 13 professional singles matches, winning six of those contests.

Where does Cameron Norrie rank among the best British players in tennis history?

Dan Evans’ Roland Garros debut

Evans, the former world number 21, made his first professional appearance at the French Open in 2014, losing in the first round of qualifying to Gastao Elias.

Three years later, the British star made his debut in the main draw.

Again the Briton lost, this time to Spaniard Tommy Robredo.

Remarkably, Evans has only recorded one victory in the French Open main draw, despite playing in the tournament on nine occasions.

His sole victory came in 2022 when he defeated Francisco Cerúndolo 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the first round of the main draw.
