Czech mates to meet in final

Benesova was too strong for Slovakia’s Magdalena Rybarikova, winning 6-1 6-3 in just under an hour.

Kvitova joined her compatriot in the final after she defeated Frenchwomen Virginie Razzano 6-4 6-2.

Benesova was runner-up in 2006 and hopes to go one better this time around.

“I remember my last final here, it wasn’t very nice,” said Benesova. “I’m hoping things will be better on Friday.”
