Coco Gauff will be playing double duty at the Canadian Open once again this year.
Gauff lost to Victoria Mboko in singles at the Canadian Open last year, but she still ended the tournament with a title.
That came as a result of her doubles partnership with her compatriot McCartney Kessler, who Gauff had never played with before.
Gauff and Kessler also have not played alongside each other since then, with the former choosing to defend her title with another American.

Instead of partnering Kessler, Gauff is instead partnering Caty McNally for her doubles title defence at the Canadian Open this year.
Gauff and McNally are former doubles partners, and actually won three titles together, including the Washington Open.
The pairing also reached the final of the US Open together in 2021, but were beaten by Sam Stosur and Shuai Zhang.
Gauff and McNally had not played together since 2023, before reuniting again for the Italian Open earlier this year.
However, this reunion was cut short, as Gauff and McNally withdrew midway through the tournament due to the latter suffering with illness.
The women’s doubles draw in Toronto this year is headlined by top seeds Luisa Stefani and Gabriela Dabrowski, who are joined by Katerina Siniakova and the aforementioned Zhang, as well as Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic.

Coco Gauff can join an exclusive group if she wins the doubles title at the Canadian Open again
Not only did Gauff win the doubles title at the Canadian Open last year, but she also won the title in 2022 alongside Jessica Pegula.
If Gauff defends her Canadian Open this year with McNally, she will join an exclusive group of five other players who have won the doubles title three times.
This list is headlined by Martina Navratilova, who won the doubles title in Canada six times with six different partners.
Some of the other names on this list include Jana Novotna, Larisa Neiland and Gabriela Sabatini.

Gauff will hope to join this list when she plays doubles alongside McNally at the Canadian Open, which begins on August 2.
She will also be hoping to improve her singles record in Canada, with Gauff having never surpassed the quarter-finals at the WTA 1000 tournament.
