Asked if he felt that his rivals saw him as unbeatable, the 22-year-old told AS: “It may be that a large part of my rivals see me like this. I guess there are others who don’t see me that way, but as a clear goal and motivation in their training.
“I think the degree of maturity we have reached on the court – and also off it – is very good. Mentally, I’m taking steps forward.

“Tournaments like Australia or this one make players, watching it from home, think: ‘This kid is playing at a great level, and above all, he is handling situations very well.’ So, in the face of future confrontations, it is normal that they may have the feeling that it is more difficult to beat me.”
Alcaraz admitted that his Qatar Open final was among his best-ever performances, as he thrashed Arthur Fils in record time.
It is one-sided results like these, against highly skilled opponents, that will only add to an element of frustration from his peers as his monopoly grows.
