Cameron Norrie’s impressive run in Metz continued with a victory against Lorenzo Sonego.
The Brit’s late-season momentum, which included a remarkable Norrie win over Carlos Alcaraz, has helped the star make the final in Metz.
Norrie had defeated Valentin Royer, Arthur Cazaux, and Kyrian Jacquet to earn a match with World No. 39 Sonego.
The Brit once again recovered from losing the first set to bounce back and secure his very first ATP final of 2025.

Cameron Norrie reacts to reaching the Moselle Open final
Norrie and Sonego battled it out for two hours, but the British No. 2 was able to come through to continue his impressive form.
Speaking on court after the match, Norrie said: “Always a battle when I play Lorenzo. I have a lot of respect for him. He’s so passionate about tennis, and he showed that.
“He came to fight, and we both fought hard today. I was really happy with my level. In the third set, even though he was fighting, I was really playing free, and I had a lot of support from the crowd up there, especially so which really helped and got me through the match in the end.
“I was able to stay calm, and honestly I enjoyed this match probably the most this week, so it was nice. It was nice to get better and better as the match went on.
“I was a bit nervous to begin the match, and it affected my serve, but he was tough. He served well, he’s a difficult player, and I had to find a solution and I was able to.”
Norrie will play the winner of the other semi-final between Learner Tien and Vitaliy Sachko in the Metz open final.
The Brit has played Tien three times in 2025, having lost their last two meetings, but he is yet to face Sachko on the ATP Tour.
Cameron Norrie praises ‘special’ Metz
This year is the last year the Moselle Open will be taking place in Metz, which will be a real shame for Norrie.
The star has an incredible record at the tournament, having reached the finals in back-to-back years now.
Norrie lost to Benjamin Bonzi in the final in 2024, but he’s managed to rack up eight wins from nine at the tournament.
The 30-year-old has reacted to the tournament being dropped from the calendar in 2025. “That’s a shame because it’s a beautiful city.
“Obviously in France they love their tennis, but it’s so nice to have such a good turnout day after day, especially during the week.
“My match that finished after midnight, there was guys staying to watch. For us players, that doesn’t go unnoticed, and it’s so special, and I really feel that energy coming to Metz. It will definitely be missed over the years.”
Norrie will play his final in Metz on November 8, with the final due to take place 14:30 UK time.
