Harriet Dart was rewarded for making the step down to W35 level after a difficult year that has seen her drop 156 places in the rankings.

Dart reached a career-high ranking of World No. 70 in September 2024, but a run of difficult form has seen her plummet.

The current World No. 229 was knocked out of the first round of Wimbledon after being given a wild card and she’s rarely featured at any big events in 2025.

Dart dropped down to a lower-level challenger event in Tunisia and has been rewarded with just her second title win.

Harriet Dart wins W35 Monastir to continue career resurgence

Dart’s career has begun to bounce back in recent months, with the star winning a doubles tournament with Maia Lumsden at Caldas da Rainha in September 2025.

The star followed that up by entering Monastir’s W35 event in Tunisia, which saw Dart end Jeline Vandromme’s 21-match unbeaten streak.

The Brit built on that momentum by winning her next two matches to lift the trophy, defeating World No. 486 Alina Granwehr in the final.

Dart’s previous singles win at ITF level in Nottingham was when she defeated Australian Taylah Preston in the final.

The Brit’s previous final at this level was at the Porto Open in March 2025, which saw her lose to Victoria Mboko in straight sets.

Challenger win could be confidence-building for Harriet Dart

Dart has often shown that she has the talent to brush shoulders with some of the best players on the WTA Tour, but tennis is just as much about confidence as it is talent.

Dart’s foray into the ITF tournament scene could be just what she needs to rise back up the WTA Tour rankings.

Although she’s at a different stage of her career, Alexandra Eala has proven that playing lower-ranked tournaments can benefit a player’s rise up the rankings.

Dart’s resurgence in the sport could be on its way after she captured her first ITF tournament for over two years.
