A British player will return to the ATP Tour for the first time in 19 months after qualifying for the Moselle Open.

Britain has been well stocked on the ATP Tour in 2025, with Cameron Norrie and Jacob Fearnley currently flying the flag as the season draws to a close.

While the top players often get the plaudits for Britain, there are several players plugging away behind the scenes on the Challenger Tour.

A 29-year-old British star, who is ranked outside the top 100, has qualified for an ATP-level main draw for the first time since April 2024.

The British player who will feature at the Moselle Open

Jan Choinski has come through qualifying at the Moselle Open and he will feature at an ATP 250 event for the first time since his appearance at the Estoril Open 19 months ago.

Choinski defeated two French stars to join the main draw of the Metz tournament, overcoming Harold Mayot and Kyrian Jacquet in qualifying.

The 29-year-old has been impressive on the Challenger circuit in 2025, winning four titles, but he’s been unable to make the step up.

That will change at the Moselle Open and it will likely have a drastic effect on the British star’s ATP ranking.

Choinski is currently ranked World No. 126, but he will likely overtake Billy Harris after Metz to become the British No. 4.

Interestingly, Choinski’s last appearance at an ATP event in Estoril saw him defeat a 17-year-old Joao Fonseca in the first round. The Brit was then defeated by Hubert Hurkacz.

Jan Choinski will join another British star at the Moselle Open

Choinski won’t be Britain’s only representation at the French indoor tournament as Norrie will also play the event.

Norrie, fresh from beating Carlos Alcaraz, will feature at the French tournament as the seventh seed and he could have a major opportunity to win his first title of the year.

The Brit will play Valentin Royer in the first round, with either Adrian Mannarino or Arthur Cazaux waiting for him in round two.

Norrie is in the same side of the draw as Felix Auger-Aliassime, but he will be unlikely to play if he wins the Paris Masters against Jannik Sinner.

Without Auger-Aliassime in the draw, the only seed Norrie will need to beat to make the final is Flavio Cobolli.
