The Frenchman won 6-3 6-4 in an hour and a half to set up a showdown with Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.

Garcia-Lopez, who beat fifth seed Martin Vassallo Arguello in the previous round, triumphed 6-3 1-6 7-6 (7/5) over Russian Mikhail Youzhny.
