“Australia doesn’t deserve a Slam” claims top American after Djokovic refused entry

World no.96 Tennys Sandrgren thinks that Australia should be stripped of hosting their Australian Open Grand Slam tournament after evicting Novak DjokovicSandgren took to social media to defend Novak Djokovic who was sensationally refused entry into Melbourne today due to issues with his visa. Sandgren reached the quarter finals in 2020 before losing to Roger Federer. In his tweet he points out that Djokovic was given a medical exemption by the tournament organisers so that he could play in the 2022 Australian Open even though he hasn’t been vaccinated against COVID. However, due to irregularities with Djokovic’s visa application, border authorities at Melbourne airport decided not to allow entry to the Serbian world no.1
The Australian Border Force (ABF) has since released a statement as follows. ‘The ABF will continue to ensure that those who arrive at our border comply with our laws and entry requirements.
