WATCH: Felix Auger-Aliassime into first Grand Slam semi after Carlos Alcaraz retires injured
Felix Auger-Aliassime will play his first Grand Slam semi-final after Carlos Alcaraz was forced to retire with injury.
Alcaraz, 18, has been one of the real stories of the tournament. He sensationally knocked out world number three Stefanos Tsitsipas in round three and then beat Peter Gojowczyk to become the youngest ever man to reach a US Open quarter-final.
However, those two marathon five-setters appear to have taken their toll on the teenager, with him forced to retire injured when a set and a break down against Auger-Aliassime.

The match initially started out quite even and tightly contested, although Alcaraz was struggling to make any real impact on the Canadian’s serve.
Once Auger-Aliassime broke, Alcaraz did manage to rally and nearly pulled the break back, but he was unable to get over the line and the first set was gone.
Auger-Aliassime made a quick start in the second set too and got a break up immediately.
With Alcaraz noticeably fading, he requested the physio and a game later, with the scores 6-3, 3-1 in Auger-Aliassime’s favour, decided to withdraw from the rest of the contest.
